Dennis M. Rodin, MD

Dr. Rodin joined the practice in September 2002 after finishing a Sports Medicine Fellowship at the Nirschl Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine Clinic, affiliated with Georgetown University. He received his medical degree from Tufts University School of Medicine and completed his orthopaedic residency at Montefiore Medical Center/Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York. Dr. Rodin is board certified in orthopaedic surgery and has a subspecialty certification in orthopaedic sports medicine.

Dr. Rodin's practice encompasses all orthopaedic problems and injuries. His particular area of expertise is in the arthroscopic management of injuries to the shoulder and knee including rotator cuff pathology, shoulder instability, meniscal injury and ligament reconstruction. His specialty also extends to the management of soft tissue injuries to the elbow, including medial and lateral tennis elbow. He is on staff at Waterbury Hospital and St. Mary's Hospital. He is very involved in caring for high school athletes in the Waterbury area, particularly for Holy Cross High School where he has served as the team physician since 2002.

Dr. Rodin is married with two children. His wife, Dr. Christine Desmond, is a practicing psychiatrist in New Haven. Dr. Rodin is a rabid New York sports fan, and when not in the office, he enjoys bicycling, music, and spending time with his family.
